DEWETRON Expands Global Presence

New Offices in India, the USA, and China

Graz, April 22, 2025 – DEWETRON, a leading provider of high-precision test and measurement systems, is continuing its global expansion: With new offices in Austin (USA), Guangzhou (China), and a newly established subsidiary in Chennai (India), the company is strengthening its local customer support in key international markets.

On a Global Growth Trajectory – Austrian Technology in High Demand Worldwide

Headquartered in Grambach, Austria, DEWETRON has been developing precise data acquisition systems for over 35 years. Its hardware and software solutions are used by industry leaders around the globe – particularly in e-mobility, renewable energy, and aerospace applications. A recent milestone: In 2024, DEWETRON was recognized by NASA for its technological contribution to the Artemis space program.

“Our export rate is exceptionally high. The markets in India, the United States, and China are of strategic importance to us – especially due to the dynamic developments in the mobility and renewable energy sectors,” says CEO Christoph Wiedner.

India: A High-Growth Market with Huge Potential

DEWETRON’s team in India has been supporting local applications in e-mobility and aerospace for the past three years. Mobile DEWETRON power analyzers and data acquisition systems are successfully used by many electric vehicle manufacturers in development and testing environments. Additionally, key suppliers to India’s space program rely on DEWETRON’s high-precision measurement systems. These systems are particularly valued in costly and critical testing scenarios, such as rocket and satellite propulsion, thanks to their robustness and built-in redundancy.

In 2024, India recorded a 15.8 % increase in renewable energy capacity, raising the total installed capacity to 209 GW. The solar sector alone added 24.5 GW (Source: energyworld.com).

“Our new subsidiary in Chennai lays the groundwork for expanding DEWETRON’s offerings in India, including local expert support, calibration services, and a platform to bring Austrian measurement technology to the renewable energy sector,” explains Raimund Trummer, Director of DEWETRON India.

USA: Focus on Aerospace and Renewables

Since 2010, the installed wind power capacity in the United States has more than tripled. Solar energy has also seen rapid growth, multiplying eightfold due to falling costs and technological advancements (Source: vox.com).

DEWETRON has maintained a presence in the U.S. since the 1990s, including its own calibration lab, and has long supported customers in aerospace, defense, and renewable energy sectors.

“North America is a key market for DEWETRON. This expansion enables us to move even closer to our customers – through local expertise, faster response times, and a stronger regional presence. Austin, with its thriving tech and engineering scene, offers an ideal location. At the same time, we are extending our partner network along the East Coast and into Mexico,” adds Christoph Wiedner.

China: A Global Leader in E-Mobility and Photovoltaics

China remains a strategic focus for DEWETRON. The company has long operated offices in Beijing and Shanghai for sales and technical support. DEWETRON’s systems enjoy strong brand recognition and an excellent reputation for quality “Made in Austria.” Many customers also choose DEWETRON for its user-friendly yet powerful OXYGEN measurement software.

China continues to lead the global e-vehicle market – with sales up 36 % in March 2025 – and is at the forefront of innovation with technologies such as sodium-ion batteries introduced by CATL (Source: reuters.com). It is also a global leader in developing and producing photovoltaic technologies. In such a competitive landscape, cost efficiency and high product performance are critical, making precision power analyzers like those from DEWETRON essential.

“Our new office in Guangzhou, focused on sales and technical support, marks another milestone in our commitment to China. In times of geopolitical uncertainty, a broad-based sales organization with local technical expertise is more important than ever,” says Raimund Trummer, Managing Director of DEWETRON China.

By expanding into these three future markets, DEWETRON is clearly reinforcing its international growth strategy and commitment to long-term global partnerships.
